Forrest, John (1847 - 1918)

Born: 22 August 1847  Preston Point, Western Australia, Australia.  Died: 3 September 1918  Sierra Leone.
(Sir/Baron) John Forrest was on the staff of the Surveyor-General's Office 1865-90. He led a number of expeditions in the uncharted wilderness of Western Australia and brought back many specimens for botanists and geologists. He was premier of Western Australia 1890-1901.
