Roland Stuart Andrews was Chairman and Managing Director, Gas and Fuel Corporation, 1951-61, after 23 years as Chief Chemist, Metropolitan Gas Company, Melbourne. His evidence was instrumental to the Victorian State Government's decision in 1949 to establish a brown coal gasification plant at Morwell and thus end Victoria's dependence on New South Wales' coal for gas production. |
