Computational Biology

This release reminds me of the development of the discipline of computational
chemistry a few decades earlier.  Along with lobbying for a 
national center for computational chemistry (which never 
materialized), the computational chemists also formed an institution called 
the Quantum Chemistry Program Exchange (QCPE), a clearinghouse for 
sharing programs and documentation.  I wonder if the computational biologists 
have something similar?
