Ellen Goddard was previously a Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Business as the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. She was appointed Professor of Agribusiness as the University of Melbourne in 1997. Goddard's specific areas of expertise include the measurement of the effectiveness of generic brand advertising for food and beverage products, agricultural trade and policy analysis, analysis of market structure and competitiveness for different commodity, international and domestic markets, and the measurement of returns in primary production and processing agribusiness markets.
