R. Rowson worked for G.P. Nicholas & Co., makers of ASPRO. He extended the tablet manufacturing and recommended the use of the Sanitape packaging press for wrapping the tablets in waxed paper. He also discovered that applying heavy hydraulic pressure to the ASPRO powder turned it into a solid cake which could be broken up and fed to tablet machines. This eliminated the granulating process involving ether, which was expensive and dangerous to handle. |
