Terence Sydney Holden helped to develop an on-line, multi-user system in 1965 for the CSIRO Section of Computing Research's Control Data 3600 computer system, called DAD. It allowed time-shared access by many users using keyboard VDU terminals, which were then new. This was the first large scale, on-line, multi-user system in Australia other than the small Cirrus. Holden worked at the CSIRO from 1945 to 1983, then worked as a Senior Consultant with Logica P/L and as a private computing consultant. He was a Fellow of the Australian Computer Society. |
