Basser, Adolph (1887 - 1964)

Born: 26 June 1887  Kraców, Poland.  Died: 20 october 1964  Edgecliff, New South Wales, Australia.
(Sir) Adolph Basser was keenly interested in scientific and medical research. Among his larger gifts were £50,000 to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 1950, £50,000 to the University of Sydney in 1954 to build its first computer; £25,000 to the National Heart Foundation and £25,000 to the Australian Academy of Science in 1960 to establish a library.
