Bond, George Grant (1874 - 1938)

Meteorologist
Born: 23 October 1874  Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia.  Died: 1938.
George Grant Bond was educated in England at Clifton Grammar School and later returned to Australia. He joined Queensland civil service in 1892 as assistant to Clement Wragge in the Brisbane weather office. Bond remained there until it was disbanded and then transferred to the to Taxation department. Once the Commonwealth Bureau of Meteorology was formed he joined it in 1908 becoming the first Divisional Meteorologist for Queensland. Bond retired in this position, 1934.
