Peter Frederick Woodall is a Senior Lecturer, School of Veterinary Science and Department of Anatomy, University of Queensland. His ornithological interests include population numbers and breeding biology and their environmental regulation, working on species like waterbirds, Red Bishops and Noisy Pittas.

Born Zimbabwe, 2 July 1951. Educated University College of Rhodesia (special relationship with University of London); (BSc (Hons), University of London 1972), University of Rhodesia (MSc 1974) and Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar (DPhil 1978). Honorary Keeper of Ornithology, Queen Victoria Museum, Harare, Zimbabwe 1970-73; Casual tutor and demonstrator, Department of Zoology, Oxford University 1974-77; senior Tutor/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, School of Veterinary Science and Department of Anatomy, University of Queensland 1978 to date. Life Member, South African Ornithological Society/BirdLife South Africa; President, Queensland Ornithological Society 1982-83; President, Queensland Naturalists' Club 1989, Editor 1996 to date; Assistant Editor, The Emu 1986-88, Editor 1988-90.
