Frank Ernest Howe was a keen oologist and ornithologist, who had an acute ear for bird calls. He frequently sent notes to Donald McDonald's nature columns in the Melbourne Argus. |

Born South Melbourne, 27 February 1878. Died Mitcham, Victoria, 24 October 1955. Tailoring business in South Melbourne till ca 1935, continuing private tailoring till 1955. Corresponding Member, Zoological Society 1910. Foundation member, Bird Observers' Club of Victoria 1905, President 1941-42. He had a particular interest in the Victorian Mallee. |
