Alexander Meller worked for the Research Division of APM ca 1938-68. He made major contributions to cellulose chemistry.

Research Division, APM 1938-68, Paper Science Section, CSIRO Division of Forest Products 1968-69. Fullbright fellowship, Institute of Paper Chemistry, wisconsin 1951, State College of Forestry, Syracuse University 1962. Grosvenor Prize, Royal Australian Chemical Institute (jointly with W E Cohen, q.v.) 1945.
