Rubbo, Sydney Dattilo (1911 - 1969)

Bacteriologist
Born: 11 September 1911  Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.  Died: 14 April 1969  Mount Martha, Victoria, Australia.
Sydney Dattilo Rubbo was senior lecturer in bacteriology at the University of Melbourne 1937-44. During this time he also did a medical course, where he was both lecturer and class-mate of the graduands of 1943. In 1945 he became Professor of Bacteriology, a position he held until 1969.

Born Sydney, 11 September 1911. Died April 1969. Educated Universities of Sydney (BSc, MPS), Melbourne (MD, BS) and London (PhD 1936, DSc). Research scholar, London 1935-37; senior lecturer in bacteriology, University of Melbourne 1937-44, Professor of Bacteriology 1945-69.
