Radiologist
Born: 16 May 1887  South Yarra, Victoria, Australia.  Died: 29 January 1954.
Leslie John Clendinnen was the son of Frederick John Clendinnen. He was apprenticed to his father as a radiologist, succeeding him on his death. He also succeeded him as honorary skiagraphist at the Melbourne Hospital in 1914, later becoming the first radiotherapist there in 1929. He was a pioneer in Australia of the interstitial use of radium needles in the treatment of malignant tumours.

Born Melbourne, 16 May 1887. Died 29 January 1954. Educated University of Melbourne (MB, ChB 1911). Apprenticed to his father 1911-13, took over the practice 1913, honorary skiagraphist, Melbourne Hospital 1914-29, Caulfield Military Hospital during World War I, first radiotherapist, Melbourne Hospital 1929-33, radiotherapist, Prince Henry's Hospital 1933-53. Council member, Medical Defence Association of Victoria for 22 years. Trustee, Wilson's Promontory National Park and Sir Colin Mackenzie Sanctuary at Healesville.
