Clarke, William Branwhite (1798 - 1878)

Born: 2 June 1798  East Bergholt, Suffolk, England.  Died: 16 June 1878  Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
William Branwhite Clarke, a member of the Anglican Clergy, was an active geologist and a leading scientific figure in colonial New South Wales. In 1851-53 he was Geological Surveyor of New South Wales and reported on the southern and northern goldfields of the colony.
